The bride is a 1999 graduate of Atholton High School. She received a bachelor's degree in interior design from Virginia Tech in 2003. She is a designer with OTJ Architects in Washington, D.C.

The groom is a 1997 graduate of Prince George High School in Prince George, Va. He received his bachelor's degree in interior design from Virginia Tech in 2003. He is a designer with RTKL International in Washington, D.C.

The ceremony was held at the War Memorial Chapel on the Virginia Tech campus in Blacksburg, Va. A reception followed at the Dominion Ballroom in the Squires Student Center, also at the university. Christy Summers was the maid of honor and Ronnald Sorrell served as best man.

The couple honeymooned in Aruba and resides in McLean, Va.

Kelly C. Raschka and Martin E. Merrick

Vicki and Dennis Raschka, of Columbia, announce the marriage of their daughter, Kelly Christine Raschka, to Martin Edward Merrick, son of LaVia and James Merrick, of Sioux Falls, S.D., on May 25, 2008. Jermone Hinson, a U.S. Navy chaplain, officiated.

The bride is a 2000 graduate of Oakland Mills High School. She received a bachelor's degree in anthropology from the University of Maryland in 2004. She is currently a graduate student at Georgetown University.

The groom is a 2003 graduate of Lincoln High School in Sioux Falls. He is a 2007 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, where he received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. He is a second lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps.

The ceremony and reception were held at the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Triangle, Va. Alaina Grim served as maid of honor and Kimberly Tippie was the matron of honor. Dave Sturzenbecher served as best man.

The couple will honeymoon in Alaska and lives in Havelock, N.C.

Kerry E. Sweeney and Kevin D. McCartney

The bride is a 1997 graduate of Red Bank (N.J.) Catholic High School and a 2001 graduate of the University of Virginia. She received a master's degree in nursing from Georgetown University and is a family nurse practitioner at Sinai Hospital, in Baltimore.

The groom is a 1997 graduate of the McDonogh School in Owings Mills and a 2001 graduate of Boston College. He is a Baltimore sales representative for Automated Health Care Solutions of Miramar, Fla.

The ceremony took place at St. Catharine's Church in Spring Lake, N.J. The reception followed at Spring Lake Bath & Tennis Club. Sarah and Katie Sweeney served as maids of honor and Zach Smith was the best man.

The couple honeymooned in Greece and resides in Baltimore.

Megan E. Castner and Geoffrey D. Troidl

The groom received a bachelor's degree in business management from James Madison University. He is an Internet marketing analyst at GEICO in Chevy Chase.

The ceremony was held at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Mount Airy. A reception followed in Columbia. Jaime Castner was the maid of honor and Justin Troidl served as best man.

The couple honeymooned in Jamaica and resides in Olney.

Ashley N. Weedon and Brian K. Snyder

Karen Weedon, of Ellicott City, and Robert Weedon, of Lansdowne, announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Nicole Weedon, to Brian Keith Snyder, son of Cynthia Haslup, of Baltimore, and Gary Snyder Sr., of Clayton, N.C.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Mt. Hebron High School. She is currently attending nursing school. She is a patient care technician at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center.

The future groom is currently attending electrician school. He works with L&L Facility Services in Arbutus.

An August wedding is planned.
