Teresa and Duane Brunot, of Columbia, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristen Brunot, to Benjamin Hanks, son of Kathy and Bradley Hanks, also of Columbia.

The bride-to-be is attending St. Mary's College and is majoring in psychology with a minor in biology. She plans to graduate in 2010 and then attend graduate school.

The future groom is currently studying culinary arts at Baltimore International College and plans to graduate in 2010. He is employed at Alexandra's Restaurant at Turf Valley Resort, in Ellicott City.

A wedding date has not been set.
