Mr. and Mrs. Francis Gerard DeVilbiss, of Towson, announce the engagement of their daughter, Katie Marie DeVilbiss, to Jacob Andrew Daft, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Burnett Bannahan II, of Columbia.

The bride-to-be graduated from Towson University with a bachelor's degree in family studies and completed her master's degree in social work at the University of Maryland. She is employed at the Baltimore County Department of Social Services, Child Protection Division.

The future groom earned a dual bachelor's degree in mass communications and history at Towson University. He is an information technology specialist at the Social Security Administration.

A Nov. 1, 2008, wedding is planned.
