Stations will be set up to accept donations for the Laurel Boys and Girls Club, Toys for Tots and the Red Cross. Refreshments will be provided by Chick-Fil-A and Starbucks.
The appliance-only showroom, which is located at the Centre at Laurel shopping center at Contee Road and Route 1, will feature a child's play area and an Internet kiosk "solution center" for shoppers to use.
According to store manager Mike Lecuyer, the Laurel Store is one of 25 appliance showrooms that Sears has opened nationally.
"Laurel was chosen because of the growth this town is going through," Lecuyer said. "These stores are something new for Sears and the only expansion it's doing now. The company is putting them in suburban areas, in strip centers, in cities that are growing."
