The Howard County Office on Aging is recruiting volunteers for its 50+ Expo at Wilde Lake High School Oct. 17. More than 100 volunteers are needed to be greeters, clean up and more. Complimentary lunch is included. A variety of shifts are available. Volunteer must be at least 15 years old. The Columbia Association is seeking volunteers to join the Community Development Task Force, whose mission it is to recommend to the CA what their role in community development and realization should be. The task force will not exceed 20 members. The Volunteer Center Serving Howard County and the Community Emergency Response Network are holding a disaster volunteer orientation Oct. 21, 6:30-7:30 p.m., for members of the community who want to be referred to local nonprofit and government agencies specializing in disaster preparedness and recovery.
