The Harborplace and the Gallery Thanksgiving Parade will march into action Saturday, Nov. 22, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., starting at Pratt and Eutaw streets. The annual procession will feature floats, marching bands, dance troupes and equestrian units. Look out for the Chesapeake Synchronized Skating & Mini Float, the Night of 100 Elvises and the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute's Marching Flock. This year, the parade will again travel east on Pratt Street and disband at Pratt Street and Market Place. Call 1-877-225-8466.
Kidney Foundation benefit
The National Kidney Foundation of Maryland will host its 23rd annual Gift of Life Gala, Saturday, Nov. 22, 6:30-11 p.m., at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore (300 Light St.). The black-tie-optional event will feature performance by such pop and R&B legends as the Platters, Charlie Thomas and The Drifters, and a Tribute to the Delfonics featuring Major Harris. Jewelry at the Walters
The Walters Art Museum's Women's Committee will hold its annual Jewelry Fair, Thursday-Sunday, Nov. 20-23, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. The event will showcase 21 artisans who create handmade creations in a variety of styles ranging from traditional to contemporary. There will also be lectures and demonstrations, as well as an opening night preview party (Nov. 20, 6-9:30 p.m.). Admission is $10, which includes the entry fee for the entire weekend. A fun auction
The Santi School Project will host its second annual silent art auction Saturday, Nov. 22, 7 p.m.-midnight, at the Load of Fun Art Gallery (120 W. North Ave.). This auction will showcase the work of Baltimore artists. The Santi School Project is a nonprofit group run by volunteers that helps support a primary school in the mountains of Nepal. An artful discussion
Julie Ann Cavnor, the executive director of Maryland Art Place, will give a talk on art Thursday, Nov. 20, 6:30 p.m., at Towson University's Center for the Arts Lecture Hall, Room 2032. Taste beer for charity
Morton's The Steakhouse will host "A Taste of Tradition" beer tasting Friday, Nov. 21, 5:30-7 p.m., at 300 S. Charles St. in Baltimore. The evening will feature tastings of three Chimay Belgian Trappist ales along with Morton's hors d'oeuvres. Shop at the Mill
Baltimore's Clipper Mill arts community will hold its third annual holiday shopping event, Mingle at the Mill, Thursday, Nov. 20, at 2010 Clipper Park Road. The evening starts with an open studio tour, during which visitors can meet the artisans and shop or crafts, 5:30-7 p.m. Come 6:30 to 8 p.m., an outdoor holiday party will be held around the fire pit. Busy farmers
The Baltimore Farmers' Market's busiest day of its season is expected to be this Sunday, Nov. 23, the Sunday before Thanksgiving. So arrive early if you plan on stocking up on ingredients for your holiday dinner. Leapin' Lipizzaners
The World Famous Lipizzaner Stallions will gallop back into the region Friday, Nov. 21, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 22, at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., at the Patriot Center at George Mason University in Fairfax, Va.
