Howard County police today arrested a 26-year-old man in North Laurel who was wanted for two non-fatal stabbings on Sept. 27 in Wilde Lake.

Gregory Imes, 26, of no fixed address, was arrested today at a McDonald’s restaurant in the 10000 block of Washington Boulevard, police said. Police offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to Imes's arrest. After receiving numerous tips from the public, police located him the McDonald's.

Imes is charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of reckless endangerment, and one count of first-degree burglary, police said.

Police were called to the 10300 block of Twin Rivers Road in the Columbia village of Wilde Lake at about 6:15 a.m. Sept. 27 and found two people suffering from multiple stab wounds, police said. Reginald Crudup and Maria Elana Cokely, both 51 and residents of the house, were taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center by ambulance in critical condition, according to police.

A hospital spokeswoman today declined to provide information on the condition of the patients because of family requests.

Investigators believe Imes is the former boyfriend of Cokely’s daughter, police said. They believe he broke in through a sliding glass door, confronted Crudup and Cokely, who were the only people home at the time, and fled, police said. Police recovered a knife at the scene.
