LaRue B. Gosnell
LaRue Brown Gosnell, of Mount Airy, died July 20, 2008, of congestive heart failure, at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick. She was 84.
Born March 15, 1924, in Dayton, to John and Beulah Brown, she graduated from Clarksville High School in 1942.
She married A. Webster Gosnell in 1947.
Mrs. Gosnell was a homemaker who worked as a legal secretary for Charles Hogg, Attorney-at-Law, in Ellicott City, for 16 years. She also worked as a bookkeeper for her husband's dry cleaning business, Tri-County Cleaners, in Mount Airy, for 27 years.
Family members recall that she enjoyed sewing, knitting and playing cards.
She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Mount Airy for more than 50 years.
Mrs. Gosnell was predeceased by two brothers, Leo Brown and Walter Brown; and two sisters, Dorothy Wessel and Helen Weland.
In addition to her husband of 61 years, she is survived by a son, Michael Gosnell, of Cockeysville; a daughter, Judy Southworth, of Westminster; four granddaughters, Jennifer Gosnell, of Cockeysville, Christina Gosnell, of Cockeysville, Lindsay Southworth, of Westminster, and Tara Southworth, of Westminster; and a brother, Paul Brown, of Delaware.
Funeral services were held July 23, 2008, at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory in Winfield.
Interment followed at Pine Grove Cemetery, in Mount Airy.
