He was born Oct. 20, 1938, in Baltimore to Frank Albert Sr. and Peggy Booher Cook.
He married Joan B. Leishear in 1959.
Mr. Cook enlisted in the U.S. Navy Reserves in 1955 and served as a engineer while based on the USS Orion in Norfolk, Va. He was a diesel mechanic during his seven years of service. Mr. Cook was discharged in 1969.
He was employed for five years by the Maryland and Virginia Milk Producing Co., in Laurel, where he worked on the company's machinery.
Mr. Cook also worked as an auto mechanic for several companies in Laurel for five years as well as a stock person for Giant Food Stores in Ashton, for almost 10 years.
In addition, he worked as a bus driver for Eyre Transport, in Glenelg, for the last 20 years.
Family members recall that Mr. Cook enjoyed fishing.
He was predeceased by a son, Frank Albert Cook III.
In addition to his wife of 49 years, Joan B. Cook, Mr. Cook is also survived by a son, Clark Allen Cook, of Glenwood; a brother, Richard Cook, of Asheville, N.C.: a brother-in-law, Edward Leishear, of Hancock; three sisters-in-law, Doris Styers, of Eldersburg, Cindy Clarke, of North Carolina and Joanne Painter, of Chambersburg, Pa.; his mother-in-law, Ruth Helen and her husband, Tom Delaney, of Edgewood, Fla.; and a nephew, Richard Cook Jr., of Alabama.
Funeral services were held July 30, 2008, at Haight Funeral Home and Chapel, in Sykesville.
Interment followed at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens, in Marriottsville
